Yardbirds Metal Cat SculptureYardbirds Metal Cat Sculpture had its beginnings with the creation of the first Yardbirds® in 1991, in Kentucky, by Richard Kolb and his father. The first bird originated from the two of them discussing and "tinkering with scrap materials." The resulting Yardbird was an instant hit. Richard Kolb has since created hundreds of designs including birds, critters, dogs and cats. He continues to maintain a tradition of consistently creating exciting new designs. Kolb says of his creations: "The things in life that bring us the most joy are those which are fun and unexpected, not the mere necessities." He says his belief is that all of us will benefit from adding some whimsy to our lives! He summarizes it when he adds "It is pretty simple: Yardbirds are really just about happiness."
